The Right to Associational Freedom and the Scope of Relationship-Dependent Duties

Abstract Humans have a fundamental need to belong. This, need, as Kimberley Brownlee argues in her book Being Sure of Each Other grounds the human right against social deprivation. But addition having deprivation, we also associational freedom, which is grounded our autonomy. We cannot be forced into relationships; are free choose friends and loved ones.? In this paper I discuss what freedom morally permits us do when already an intimate relationship and, relatedly, relationship-dependent duties require such cases. What exactly constraints on freedom? And content scope duties, given that conflicts with fulfillment these duties?? After providing some clarifications how should understand relationships ended, will first highlight they correlate control. then several break-up scenarios, aim determine conditions justify being imposed delineate duties.
